Wow, it's already a week into 2007!! I was adopted by Mishy for
Christmas and we had a delicious day at Jay and Maria's complete with a cosy winter table setting, menus handcrafted by Neelay and Milan,!!
For New Years, Joyce, Claire, Rob and I battled the crowds and saw the fireworks which were amazing, and long. Getting on the tube was a WHOLE nuther story. You couldn't even step off the escalator as there were so many people there was no room to move so you kinda just fell off it. Ahh, Christmas in the Park will be a piece of cake when I get back home hehe ; )
To bring in the new year, I saw CHICAGO with Joyce and my lil cousin Kim, (who coincidentally isn't so lil anymore, gallivanting round the world!) It was fantastic, but I was surprised at the smallish size and general standard of the theatre.
Today I went and got a haircut at the Toni & Guy Academy.
Granted it took 5 hours, but it only cost me £5!! Plus, after feeling like I was applying for a modeling job as they sized everyone up, I got into the advanced group, which meant I didn't have an 18yr old trying out their first graduated bob on me, but an actual hairdresser that was merely picking up a few more skills! I ended up getting a dye too as they needed another cut & dye model, SCORE!! I now have a bob with long "disjointed sections" in the front, and a "block" of "228" at the back with varying shades at the front. (If you could hear the instructions given by the tutor, you would think they were building a nuclear weapon!!) And don't worry mum, I am not trolloping around looking like a punk from the 80's, it's all very subtle and stylish : ) Plus, the short back means that my hair doesn't keep getting caught in my scarf 100 times a day.
Tomorrow I head to Berlin for a few days; I'm trying to get through
this mammoth book on the Berlin wall before I leave so that I might be a bit more intellectualised on the whole thing, but I'm thinking I may have to take it with me. Although as I'm taking carry on luggage only, (after 2 weeks in Morocco on 2 T-shirts, I couldn't seriously take a pack for 3 days!!) it may be a bit space problematic. I will also not be able to use my regular library process of taking a book from hostel and leaving it at the next whilst taking another as it is not my book. Aside from only being allowed to take 100ml liquids, (interestingly a tube of toothpaste is 100ml) it makes bagless travel rather convenient.
